Vince Proffitt

Founder and President

Vince Proffitt founded Spartan Medical® in 2008 to improve patient care and outcomes for America’s veterans and wounded warriors by providing them with the most advanced medical technologies and superior service. Under Vince’s leadership, Spartan Medical® has grown each year of its existence. In 2013, the company was designated a Top Priority Vendor within the VA Health Care System, and it has been awarded over seven hundred contracts with Government Healthcare Facilities and many more with private hospitals across the United States. Spartan Medical® has also become a key strategic partner to some of the most distinguished names in the MedTech sector.

Vince’s leadership skills were honed at the United States Air Force Academy where he graduated with Distinguished Honors in 1999. He served the following five years on active duty as a USAF Intelligence Officer training aircrew and coordinating theater combat operations in support of U.S. and allied armed forces in multiple global operations. His highly awarded and decorated service record includes being named the 2003 Air Force Instructor of the Year.

After concluding his military service, Vince was hired by Medtronic Sofamor Danek, where he quickly distinguished himself as a singularly effective associate in less than four years. He earned national accolades as a Top Three Rookie, and was later recognized as one of the company’s Top Ten U.S. Representatives in consecutive years, earning membership in the coveted President’s Club. Since then, Vince has operated at all levels of the medical supply and device industry.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Vince was among the first people who the VA’s leadership contacted about acquiring genuine and affordable solutions. Vince went to work immediately. Under his command, Spartan Medical® mastered the technical properties of SARS-CoV-2 testing/vaccinations and amassed a comprehensive and flexible solution that can be adapted to any environment or population. The comprehensive, turnkey, risk-mitigation programs helped Spartan’s customers suppress COVID-19 outbreaks and keep their organizations operating, establishing Spartan Medical® as a proven leader in the COVID-19 emergency response space and medical operations management industry.

To this day, Spartan Medical® is 100% privately owned by Vince. The company has no conflicts of interest and is independent, financially-stable, and debt-free. In 2022, Spartan Medical® was named to the prestigious Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing, privately-owned companies in America, and it was recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” in the greater Washington, D.C. region by the Washington Business Journal.

Vince has also been named one of the top private investors in Maryland, and he has acted as lead investor, advisor, co-founder, and board director of nearly a dozen U.S. and U.K. private and publicly-traded companies. He is an active corporate advisor and much sought-after keynote speaker at industry events.

In addition to his for-profit work, Vince has dedicated himself to addressing the challenges of veterans. He serves as the founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Proffitt Brothers Foundation®, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to directly support a diverse array of charitable causes.
