MicroLyte Bioresorbable Matrix

Microlyte® Matrix is a sterile, single-use, flexible, primary contact wound matrix made of biocompatible hydrophilic synthetic polymer – polyvinyl alcohol. The matrix has a polymeric surface coating containing ionic and metallic silver.

The matrix absorbs wound fluid, conforms to the wound surface, and maintains a moist wound environment. The matrix contains antimicrobial silver to prevent and minimize microbial growth within the matrix. • Non-toxic; antimicrobial benefit 99.99% effective (Less than 25 micrograms of silver per sq. cm). 2,3
  • Can be used at the onset of wound treatment or in surgery.
  • Non-pyrogenic; meets FDA and USP requirements for limit of endotoxin detected on a medical device for use in surgery.
  • Contours to the micro-texture of the wound bed.
  • Cytophilic, biocompatible matrix helps maintain a moist wound environment that is conducive to cellular growth and granulation process.
  • Sterile and shelf stable at room temperature with a 4-year shelf life; available in multiple sizes (5x5cm, 10x10cm, 5x23cm, 15x15cm, 10x23cm).
  • 510K clearance #K153756: synthetic matrix indicated for acute (e.g., surgical) chronic (DFU, VLU, PU), and burn (1st and 2nd degree) wounds.

Next Generation Antimicrobial Matrix

Effective against microbes most frequently associated with wound infections, including antibiotic resistant VRE and MRSA. The results verify that the antimicrobial silver in the matrix suppresses the growth of microorganisms on the matrix and is effective in preventing microbial colonization of the matrix. 2,3

Clinically-Proven

Thirty-two patients with a total of 35 chronic, nonhealing wounds of varying types were treated with Microlyte® Matrix once every three days.  At 3 weeks, 72% of wounds had significantly improved healing with an average wound area reduction of 66%. By 12 weeks, 91% of wounds either healed completely or improved significantly with an average wound area reduction of 73%.  The application of Microlyte® Matrix was safe and well tolerated, and it facilitated improvements in healing of a majority of the complex chronic wounds studied. 1-2, 4-6 Click Here to read the full article from the November issue of WOUNDS.
