West Tennesseans Will Have Access to Mobile Vaccination Services
Thanks to a grant from the CDC, Spartan Medical TennVax is taking Covid-19 vaccination services on the road. TennVAX’s newly opened office in Jackson is preparing vaccination sites throughout most counties in west and middle Tennessee.
JACKSON, Tenn. - Thanks to a grant from the CDC, Spartan Medical TennVAX is taking Covid-19 vaccination services on the road.
TennVAX’s newly opened office in Jackson is preparing vaccination sites throughout most counties in west and middle Tennessee.
“We’re going to use it as our hub to reach out to our rural counties, the contract is to help boost Tennessee’s vaccination numbers, because it has a lower rate than the national average.”
Greg Mossman with the TennVAX program believes Jackson is a great city that connects to smaller communities.
Mossman believes west Tennesseans who want a Covid-19 vaccine deserve access to them.
“Maybe somebody’s home bound, or they don’t have access to a vehicle to make the trip to these population hubs. We’d like to reach out to those areas and help boost those numbers in the areas for the people that are under served or unable to get back to these parts of town.”
The pop-up sites will have nurses setup with the different covid-19 vaccines: Moderna, Pfizer, Novavax, and Bivalent vaccines.
Patients will be given a Covid-19 vaccination consent form, and a vaccination card.
TennVAX will be traveling directly to homes, nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and communities until June 2024.
“Our goal is to reach out to communities and members of the communities that don’t have access or are able to get access to hubs like Jackson, Nashville, or Memphis.”
