Mark White
Executive Vice President of Physician Relations & Chairman of Advisory Boards
Mark White was appointed Executive Vice President of Physician Relations and Advisory Boards in March of 2022. He is responsible for managing and developing key physician relationships and serving as the Chairman of the Spartan Medical® Advisory Board. The newly-created Spartan Medical® Advisory Board will consist of surgeons, executives from the medical device industry, and key personnel from the financial market. Its purpose is to aid and assist Spartan Medical® in investing in new medical technologies and advising on crucial acquisitions in the medical device arena.
Mark has over 35 years of experience in the industry and has held numerous positions. He began his career in sales at Merck & Co., where he quickly established himself as one of the top salespeople and a leader in his region. He was a Vice President’s club member and field trainer for all new regional representatives. He then joined a medical device distributorship in the Washington DC metro area, specializing in orthopedic sales. He was awarded the first-ever “Salesman of the Year” at Arthrotek, the sports medicine division of Biomet. He later served as Vice President of Sales, leading the sales growth from 5 million to over 15 million.
Mark then transitioned to the spine market and joined Nuvasive, which at the time was a start-up spine company with a unique lateral approach to the lumbar spine and has now grown into the third largest spinal company in the world. Mark launched Nuvasive’s innovative lateral approach to the spine in the Washington DC metro area and gained universal acceptance as the preferred method for treating spinal pathologies. Mark developed two local surgeons into key KOLs who became members of the Lateral Approach Society, a nationally recognized society for spinal surgeons.
Mark joined Spartan Medical® in 2012 as the Director of Spinal Technologies. In this role, he developed a comprehensive training program for new representatives to develop salespeople into true consultants. He also helped develop a complete portfolio of spinal devices and biologics for the government market. Mark was then promoted to the Director of Global Sales, where the focus was on developing sales in the global government sector. This helped increase sales year over year, culminating in the best year in the company's history, with sales above 31 million dollars.
Mark graduated from the University of Richmond with a B.S. in Biology and was a Tri-Beta Biology Honor Society member.
